One more thought...
Don't you hate when someone ruins a song for you?? This has happened to me more times than I'd like to think about. So you really like a song, or someone (a boy) introduces a song to you and then later, you can't listen to it at all.
It's the worst.
But it's always a good day when you can listen to the entire song again. It's a great day.

Random thoughts of the day:
1) I look like a Glamour Fashion 'Don't' today. I literally look like I fell out of bed, threw on mismatched clothes and pulled up my hair. Thank goodness I get to wear jeans to the office tomorrow.

2) Speaking of jeans... who has Hudson Jeans? These are so damn cute! I must get some!
3) My song o' the week is Alejandro - Lady Gaga. I have no idea what she's talking about in this song. She's talking about Alejandro, then Fernando, then Roberto... really, it's exhausting. Sing-on Gaga!
4) This is Cadbury. He's walking around my office right now.
5) My favorite tv show is The Vampire Diaries. It's teeny-bobber, dark and has very good looking men. All my favorite things! I can't pick between Damon and Stefan. Either brother would make me a happy girl... can't you see my head on her body?? Photoshop project!
6) Yesterday there were 9 girls at my pool during lunch. NINE! They had magazines, books, laptops, probably some fruity drinks with umbrellas. Really, how do I get out there?! I'll work all day and night to be by the pool. Today there were only 3 girls out there. Lucky bitches.

Food for thought...
So around this time last year, my good friend Merideth, who resides in Miami, along with her husband, Brian, did a Meatless May and went vegetarian for a month. Inspired by the book Skinny Bitch, Merideth and Brian accomplished this challenge and she included a full report and some recipes on her blog.
Last summer, Heylee and I both read Skinny Bitch as well and did the same thing. Though the book preaches a vegan lifestyle, I decided to try out vegetarianism for about 3 months. The book advocates the humane treatment of animals and sheds light on common food additives as well. The one that shocked me the most was the approval process that aspartame went through, before finally hitting the market. Aspartame is most commonly in diet sodas, NutraSweet and Equal and is basically just additive crap that goes in thousands of foods and drinks... ok, I'm off my high-horse. (Just read into it a bit!)
I didn't put an end date on my personal challenge and actually lasted much longer than I had expected. Finally, I gave in to a chicken sandwich at The Cheesecake Factory at the end of summer.
I've never been a big red meat eater. Never in my life have I ordered a steak in a restaurant and I only ate other red meat like burgers occasionally. I've still yet to eat red meat since I began my challenge last summer. I do include chicken, turkey and some pork in my diet though these days.
On Monday, while enjoying me last day of vacation, I watched Food Inc. on my laptop via Netflix. This is not an anti-meat documentary. Instead, it examines the chicken, beef and pork industries in the United States and the inhumane treatment of animals as well as economically and environmentally unsustainable foods.
This got me to thinking about my diet again. I am admittedly a bit of a hippie already. I only grocery shop at Whole Foods, I never wear fur, I recycle, I only drink water, tea, an occasional Starbucks coffee and yes, alcohol. I even adopted my cat and rescued her from Garland for goodness sake! So, for the past 3 days (yes, 3 whole days!) I have again cut meat out of my diet.
More than just getting all uppity about the politics of the meat industry, I enjoy being forced to try different foods and to incorporate more fruits, vegetables and grains into my diet to make up for the lack of meat. I don't know how long I will keep this up, but I do feel better about reminding myself what I'm putting in to my body.
Just some thoughts... carry on!

Eat, Pray, Love
I'm reading Eat, Pray, Love, a fabulous memoir by author Elizabeth Gilbert, as I said in my previous post. I'm only about half way through, but this is really one of the best books I've read in a while. I had some serious moments with this book and have had to stop and reread some of the lines over and over and really let them sink in. Luckily for me, Heylee has already underlined many of the amazing lines in this book while she was reading it. The film, staring Julia Roberts, comes out in August. I can't wait to finish the book and see the film. See the trailer below.
I'm back from Southern California. The trip was fabulous. Below are some pics from my vacation.
Piper thought she was going on vacay too. By the way, I'm LOVING Eat, Pray, Love. I'm about to start on the last section of the book.

Finally, some real news!
I admit it. I love MTV's Jersey Shore (Season 1 Uncensored is now available on DVD, yes!) I even follow their tweets, though the cast is filming right now in South Beach for Season 2 and they are on lockdown. I was pleased to see that Snooki (who was 'snookin'-for-love') found a nice Guido personal trainer boyfriend, Emilio.
Emilio & Snooki - ahhhh, young love
Well the big news today is that they BROKE UP! And what's better, she did it via voicemail! Now, I've been broken up with, uh, a few times... email, phone call, bar fight... ya know, the usual. But voicemail!?
The story is on People.com. Apparently, Emilio tried out for the Real World and she assumed he had just been using her for her A-list... I mean, B-list status. Her exact words were “You’re nothing. You’re single.” Now that's one I haven't heard yet. Even better than that... Snooki may have hooked up with The Situation again this season. Poor Emilio!
Ladies (and some Gentlemen)... we have a Situation on our hands
Really, if Snooki can't find love, how is a girl like me going to find love. That's it... I'm moving to Jersey!

Mystery pic
Umm, who took this pic? I'm at the piano at Ocean Prime I know that.
Don't you love finding random pics on your phone?! Yikes! Scary-Mary.

California... here we coooooome!
So this week I'm returning to the old country, the mother land, the O.C. I was born in Orange County and lived there til I was 2. I know, not long, but I always claim California and NOT Texas. It's on my passport, so there, I do what I want.
On Thursday I'm flying into LAX (with a dream and my cardigan) to join a group of girlfriends for Sara's Bachelorette Extravaganza. Yes, we have matching pink t-shirts. We'll be out there for 3 days wine tasting, shopping, dining, more wine tasting, going to the beach, jello shots, sumo wrestling... sumo wha... !?
While thinking about this trip I starting thinking about one of my favorite shows of all time, The O.C. I've seen every episode of the 4 season FOX series that ran from 2003-2007. Who can forget The Bait Shop (hello, Peach Pit knock-off), or when Kirsten became an alcoholic, or when Seth created Chrismukkah (my fav holiday), or when Ryan... well Ryan beat up everyone in Newport, or when Summer pulled that Spiderman move on Seth during the thunderstorm, or when Marissa starting dating girl-Alex, or Sandy's (Peter Gallagher's) eyebrows, or when Jimmy Cooper was dating Jennifer Aniston... oh wait, that was Tate Donovan in real life... or when Ryan's car is flipped by Volchok's, injuring Marissa and she then dies in Ryan's arms on the dark streets of the O.C. at the end of season 3?! Drama!

Enjoy!

Hot Jeans
I love jeans. Love love love them. I don't spend a ton on shoes or purses, but I will spend some bucks on jeans. Below are some denim pieces I think are pretty hot.
These are William Rast jeans (the Justin Timberlake brand) and I have been dying to get a pair of WR's.
Rock & Republic ultra skinny jeans. Ultra hot.
7 for all Mankind A-pocket jeans. I have a LOT of 7's but no A-pocket style jeans.
Rich & Skinny Bootcut jeans. I wish I would have thought up this brand.
Banana Republic Straight jeans. I just bought these a few weeks ago. They are a lot cuter on than this photo. I fell tho (yes, I tripped and went boom) and now I have a hole in the knee. :(
