Mr. Clinton in the house!

Did you all hear this... my man ex-Mr. President, Bill Clinton was in Bangkok this past weekend filming a guest spot as himself for The Hangover 2!?  Forget Jessica Simpson's ruby engagement ring, this is some real entertainment news.  I'm totally pumped.  I love me some Clinton!

Pop sensation

Do you all watch Chelsea Lately?  Chelsea Handler is so stinkin funny.  I watch/record her every night on E!  She's just hilarious.  On Monday night, her guest was Keenan Cahill, a 15-year-old YouTube sensation who lip syncs pop songs.  On Monday he debuted his newest jam Down On Me featuring Chelsea's maybe-boyfriend, 50 Cent.

This kid is awesome... wait for 50 to come in...

More ways to behave yourself, or not

I just came across this interesting article while I was eating my salad from the Headline Diner (thanx TDMN!) on msnbc entitled Sobriety Test attempts to curb drunk Facebooking.  See part of article below:

As it is, Sobriety Test works for Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Tumblr and MySpace. (If you're still posting on MySpace, drinking is the least of your problems.) Much like Mail Goggles, the drunk-protecting Gmail tool, users set Sobriety Test for the hours they expect to be under the influence. Any attempt to access the chosen social network during danger time is met with a simple test, such as typing the alphabet backwards (thus protecting social networks from dyslexics as well).

Fail, and not only does Sobriety Test block access to the social network you're trying to get on, it thoughtfully posts this status for you: "(Your name) is too intoxicated to post." Because, you know, that's not embarrassing.

So, now the whole world knows that you also can't spell.  What's better is that this app isn't available on mobile devices.  Well this isn't helping any of us who have our phones permanently glued to our palms on a Saturday night in any fine local drinking establishment.

Didn't these people who created this app see The Social Network-  this is how this whole fine mess of relentless social networking began.  Be responsible people, at least monitor yourselves.

Coffee Talk

As an Uptown girl, I've made a habit the past 4+ years to grocery shop, lunch and brunch at Eatzi's on Oak Lawn.  It's a Dallas staple and I've recently discovered a new simple pleasure at the local market, Eatzi's coffee.  I was in this past Sunday morning, bright and early, curing my hangover, I mean, getting my day started and I hit the grill for an egg scrambler and then ordered a cafe mocha at the espresso bar.  I have no idea what kind of voodoo this girl put in my mocha, but about 3 minutes later, my piping hot cup of yumminess arrived and I was delighted.

Truth be told, I'm not a good coffee drinker.  I don't know the fancy terms, I don't branch out and I usually have to get half-caf or I get the shakes.  This coffee was not heavy on the sugar or syrup like Starbucks and I wasn't trembling or crashing an hour later like I usually do.  It was fab.  But then again, after a night on the town, anything would have tasted pretty damn good that morning.

Check out Eatzi's coffee, cheers!

Lofty aspirations

I had a dream last night that Big Bird, yes that big yellow bird, came into my office and laid off a bunch of people.  So I got to thinking about possibly one day investing in a little business venture, below are my disjointed thoughts:

A bar
location location location

A clothing boutique
fortunately we all have to wear clothes

A pizza shop
 i've been to italy
A mask shop
add a little mystery to this town

A tango club
spicy latin dancing never hurt anyone

Barton Creek wedding weekend

This past weekend, Rableman, Pattymac and I took a road trip to Barton Creek Resort outside of Austin for a family wedding.

Let there be wine!

On Saturday we went wine tasting west of Austin, so fun!

Cool wedding party pics on the golf course

Congrats to Jen and Tim!

It wouldn't be a wedding if I wasn't on stage front and center dancing to Proud Mary

Someone missed me

It's Kat!!

Guess who's coming to Dallas this Thursday night!  My girl, Kat Von D!!  I love Kat and LA Ink!  She started tattooing when she was just 14- that's crazy!

Who wants to go meet her with me?  She's signing copies of her new book The Tattoo Chronicles.

Song o the Week

Yes I'm obsessed.  I bought the new Taylor Swift album, Speak Now, the day it came out and have been listening it to it non-stop since it came out.  Non-stop.  In an effort to feed my cynicism I've been listening to the album's songs about heartbreak, love-lost and just plain rotten ex-boyfriends.  To my surprise though, I've found a favorite and it's about none of those things.  In fact, it's about meeting someone new and the possibility of what could be.

Sorry-  I almost got extremely cheesy there, but please note that I did not use the words 'amazing' or 'journey.'

Lyrics are below, also please listen along.  It's pretty amazing... I mean badass.

There I was again tonight forcing laughter, faking smiles

Same old tired, lonely place
Walls of insincerity
Shifiting eyes and vancancy vanished when I saw your face
All I can say is it was enchanting to meet you

Your eyes whispered "have we met?"
Across the room your silhouette starts to make it's way to me
The playful conversation starts
Counter all your quick remarks like passing notes in secrecy
And it was enchanting to meet you
All I can say is I was enchanted to meet you

This night is sparkling, don't you let it go
I'm wonderstruck, blushing all the way home
I'll spend forever wondering if you knew
I was enchanted to meet you

The lingering question kept me up
2am, who do you love?
I wonder till I'm wide awake
Now I'm pacing back and forth, wishing you were at my door
I'd open up and you would say,
It was enchanting to meet you
All I know is I was enchanted to meet you

This night is sparkling, don't you let it go
I'm wonderstruck, blushing all the way home
I'll spend forever wondering if you knew
This night is flawless, don't you let it go
I'm wonderstruck, dancing around all alone
I'll spend forever wondering if you knew
I was enchanted to meet you

This is me praying that this was the very first page
Not where the story line ends
My thoughts will echo your name until I see you again
These are the words I held back as I was leaving too soon
I was enchanted to meet you

Please don't be in love with someone else
Please don't have somebody waiting on you
Please don't be in love with someone else
Please don't have somebody waiting on you

This night is sparkling, don't you let it go
I'm wonderstruck, blushing all the way home
I'll spend forever wondering if you knew
This night is flawless, don't you let it go
I'm wonderstruck, dancing around all alone
I'll spend forever wondering if you knew
I was enchanted to meet you

Please don't be in love with someone else
Please don't have somebody waiting on you

Wish List

I love this time of year because I can recycle all my summer dresses and pair them with leggings and boots or suede heels.  Or I can always buy myself a new party dress.  Check out this pretty tiered dress from J Crew.  Don't you just love the colors?
